The Merriam-Webster online dictionary defines Conceptual Art as “an art form in which the artist’s intent is to convey a concept rather than to create an art object.” This is a simple definition that I think works well in describing a complex process that is often as painful as it is cathartic.

Each of these works were created when I found myself struggling to cope with a difficult situation. They helped by allowing me to channel my anxiety and feelings of helplessness into something that required a lot of care in planning and even more time and care in execution.
