The area where I live is littered with abandoned buildings. The failing aerospace industry forced many people into abandoning their American dream. I find a perfect kind of solitude when shooting abandoned buildings. I like to listen for the ghosts of the past while wondering what, if anything, will happen to the buildings and land in the future.
This is a small sample of shots taken all around the Palmdale/Lancaster area. I use a variety of cameras and film types with instant film being my favorite for shooting abandoned buildings. As with all of my imagery, I do not use Photoshop to make the images look the way they do. I let the film and cameras do that for me.
